BJP Social Media Team Controversy

BJP Social Media Team Controversy

Several members of the BJP’s newly appointed national social media team have either deactivated their social media profiles or removed their past posts. The party announced its new social media team on August 17. While Deepak Mahaske was appointed National Social Media Coordinator, Priti Gandhi, Shivam Dwivedi, Alok Bhatt, and Arun Yadav were named co-coordinators.

Following the announcement, controversy erupted online regarding past posts on X (formerly Twitter) by some of the appointed leaders. Netizens noted that several older posts are no longer publicly visible, while screenshots of controversial comments allegedly addressing opposition figures, religion, and affirmative action policies were widely circulated. The leaders involved have not yet issued detailed clarifications regarding the matter.
